What’s the deal with Michigan’s first cannabis consumption lounge?

Michigan’s cannabis industry has created a method of cannabis consumption in public without one being able to sell products in public. So, what is the deal with Michigan’s first cannabis lounge?
According to cannabis attorney Barton Morris, he states that cannabis lounges are located inside dispensaries where consumers can consume products inside the lounge.
The cannabis consumption lounge is also known as a “social use”. Because cannabis cafes are not legal in Michigan yet, social-use cannabis lounges give consumers another choice of cannabis consumption. The proposed new cannabis lounges have created a great deal of excitement, allowing people from all spheres to congregate in one space and consume marijuana products.
Although cannabis cafes are not allowed in Michigan yet, it is expected that within the next few years marijuana social clubs should open across the country as more states legalize recreational marijuana.
However, cannabis cafes should take time to develop because they should be regulated like dispensaries instead of liquor or tobacco lounges. Furthermore, cannabis lounges will generate more business revenue for the state because consumers are willing to pay an entrance fee to use cannabis in a social setting.
With cannabis lounges soon to open across the country, it is expected that cannabis cafes will generate more revenue for states legalizing cannabis. Despite cafes not being legalized yet in Michigan, consumers are able to purchase edibles at dispensaries and then use them in the lounge. The proximity of the dispensary to cannabis lounges will also increase dispensary revenue because consumers are willing to purchase edibles prior or after their cannabis use in the lounge.
What do you think about Michigan cannabis cafes? Do you believe that cannabis cafes should be regulated like dispensaries instead of liquor or tobacco lounges? How would this change affect cannabis business?
